Our Packaging Concept

In order to fulfill the greatly increased requirements concerning packaging and environmental aspects, we introduced a new future-orientated packaging concept for Giroform reels at the end of the 80's. The performance of our packaging has been tried and tested in exhaustive international trials.

The advantages of our new packaging continue to lead the way - even after the introduction of strict new packaging legislation in Germany. Our packaging guarantees optimum handling at all stages and is based on two aims:

To Provide Perfect Protection

the paper is sealed under ideal climatic conditions in our production plant
optimum protection of the paper during transportation and storage is guaranteed

To Protect the Environment

all materials used may be easily separated
all materials may be easily collected
all materials may be recycled
all materials are easy to dispose of
the minimum number of different materials are used
the very minimum amount of packaging weight and volume is used

Our packaging offers important advantages in comparison to conventional packaging methods - these are demonstrated during paper distribution and processing:

Ideal Paper Conditioning

All Giroform reels are stretch wrapped under ideal production conditions. The PE packaging film used is environmentally-friendly. The film may be easily removed, has a low volume for collection and, when sorted, is suitable for recycling.

Complete Protection Against Impact and Moisture

The construction of our pallets guarantees all-round protection against moisture and mechanical damage during transportation.

Discs for easier pushing-off

Our new cardboard discs prevent this type of damage and enable individual Giroform reels to be safely removed from the stack.

Paper Color - Always Visible

The color of the paper is clearly visible from all sides in paper warehouses.

Makeready allowances for Giroform - Security For You

Every reel of Giroform paper includes a specially guaranteed additional length covering the discolorations on the perimeter normally attributable to handling the reel. As a result, you can set up your machine without any loss of paper.

Optimum Selection of packaging Materials - No Dusting

With respect to the packaging materials used:
Performance characteristics: maximum protection
Materials: only the maximum number of different materials

Safe Synthetic Strapping

The PET pallet strapping band used may be removed without danger. The banding may be recycled when sorted and collected.

Packaging Materials Optimized for Sorting and Collection

Adhesive materials are not used, no kraft paper, no gluing strips, no hot-melt adhesives, removable self-adhesive labels.

A Minimum Amount of Packaging Material and Volume

The amount and volume of packaging materials used has been reduced to an absolute minimum.
